According to a news report, Felcra Berhad is set to distribute RM74 million in dividends to more than 70,000 settlers across the country in anticipation of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations. The chairman of Felcra, Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, mentioned that this payment will assist recipients in preparing for the festive season.
These payments were made online and come from the last dividend distribution of 2023. The dividends for 2024 are scheduled to commence in May, with the exact amount depending on the price of crude palm oil in the global market. Currently, the price of palm oil is stable and exceeds RM4,000 per metric tonne.
Ahmad Jazlan expressed optimism that this positive trend will continue, allowing settlers to receive additional dividends. He shared these details with reporters after participating in a breaking of fast event with Kelantan Umno division leaders on Thursday, March 28.
Additionally, Ahmad Jazlan, who also serves as the Kelantan Umno liaison committee chairman, called upon the Kelantan state government to address the ongoing water supply crisis, especially with Hari Raya approaching in just two weeks. He emphasized the importance of ensuring an adequate water supply to avoid any disruptions during the festive period due to the expected increase in water usage as people return to their hometowns.
It is crucial to prevent any water shortages from affecting the celebration. The chairman’s plea was made during the breaking of fast gathering in Kelantan, as reported by Bernama news agency.
