KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian film industry is mourning the loss of Film Directors Association of Malaysia (FDAM) president Ahmad Ibrahim, better known as Mat London. Mat London’s funeral procession took place later in the morning, with his remains being brought to Al-Mardhiyah Mosque in Taman Melawati. He was laid to rest at the Muslim Cemetery in Kampung Klang Gate, Taman Melawati after the Friday prayers. Salmany expressed how his father was a loving and caring figure, always ensuring that the family gathered for special occasions and celebrations despite their distance from each other.
“My father and I lived closest to each other, so we often went out for a drink together. He was truly a loving father,” Salmany shared. It was evident that Mat London’s dedication extended beyond his family, as he consistently prioritized the welfare of those working in the creative industry. Even during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, he fought tirelessly to ensure that artists were allowed to continue their work.
