PETALING JAYA: Local film producer and actor Datuk Rosyam Nor (pic) has fallen victim to investment scammers who are exploiting images of celebrities and public figures, using them to deceive innocent individuals.
Contrary to these fraudulent claims, Nor emphasized that he has absolutely no involvement in any investment scheme relating to shares.
A report by Sinar Harian unveiled that unscrupulous individuals unlawfully employed the 56-year-old’s image to endorse their investment schemes.
Expressing his concerns, Nor conveyed in a video, “I would like to inform you all that numerous advertisements utilizing my picture to promote stocks have emerged, adversely affecting a significant number of people.”
Furthermore, Nor advised the public to exercise skepticism and refrain from hastily believing such claims, reminding them that his picture can be easily manipulated and exploited by malicious individuals.
Sinar Harian also highlighted that other renowned celebrities, namely Datuk Awie, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Rozita Che Wan, Ella, and Erra Fazira, have previously reported similar incidents where their photographs were misused to promote products and stocks without their consent.
Due to the increasing number of cases involving the unauthorized usage of celebrities’ images, it is crucial for individuals to exercise caution and conduct thorough research before falling prey to investment scams.
