Several structures and a few boats in Pulau Ketam near Port Klang were engulfed by a fire on Friday (Sept 29), causing panic on the island. John Cha, manager of a hotel on the island, believes the fire started shortly after 11am. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
The fire was brought under control around 1.30pm, but not before causing significant damage. The Pulau Ketam police station received notification of the incident at 12.40pm, despite reports that the fire had started earlier. “A fish storage warehouse, along with multiple boats and houses, have been destroyed,” said an officer from the police station. More information is awaited.
