KUALA LUMPUR: A fire broke out on Saturday (Aug 5), destroying three cars along Jalan Bukit Lanjan, Kampung Sungai Penchala.
The distress call was received by the Fire and Rescue Department operations room at 11.17am. In response, six Bomba personnel and a fire engine were dispatched from the Taman Tun Dr Ismail fire station.
Arriving at the scene just 12 minutes later, Bomba personnel discovered that three cars had been completely destroyed by the fire. The fire was successfully extinguished by approximately 11.55am and thankfully, there were no casualties.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to operation commander Noor Faizal Mohd Noor.
Meanwhile, Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor revealed that no evidence of arson was found at the scene.
“We believe the fire started with one car and subsequently spread to the other cars in the vicinity,” he stated.
