A fire broke out in Inanam, Kota Kinabalu, on Tuesday (Oct 3), destroying a warehouse containing various items, including secondhand clothes. The incident was reported to the Fire and Rescue Department at 1.16pm. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the depot was completely burnt down.
The warehouse was being used by five different owners who stored their merchandise there. These owners included individuals who dealt with carpets and secondhand clothes, used clothes, furniture, hardware, and car spare parts. The fire was fought by the team from Lintas fire station, with assistance from the Kota Kinabalu fire station and the police, according to the Department spokesperson.
The operation to control the fire began at 1.16pm and was successfully brought under control by 3.33pm. Following this, the team proceeded to clear any remaining embers to ensure complete safety. The operation concluded at 8.01pm, as confirmed by the spokesman.
