A man sustained chest injuries after falling into a drain when the drain cover he was standing on gave way in Shah Alam. The incident was reported to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department at around 7:30 pm on Wednesday (Oct 11), and a team was immediately dispatched to the scene in Kampung Baru Subang. According to Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, the Assistant Director of Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, the 56-year-old man fell into a 5-foot (1.52m) drain while walking on top of a drainage cover. Both the man and the cover fell into the drain as he stepped on it. Mukhtar also mentioned that the cover was not closed properly.
