GEORGE TOWN: A fisherman rescued a 23-year-old woman who fell from the Penang Bridge in the early morning hours of Wednesday (Aug 30).
The Fire and Rescue Department provided a statement saying that the woman was retrieved from the sea at 4.52am.
“Firemen arrived at the scene at KM7.4 of the bridge, heading towards Prai, at 4.28am. We discovered that a person had fallen into the sea, with a car and personal documents left behind.
“Fortunately, the victim was saved by a fisherman who happened to be in the area, and she has been handed over to the police by now,” the Department stated.
