In Kuala Lumpur, as of 9am on Thursday (Oct 5), there were five areas that reported unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings. Among these areas, Bukit Rambai in Melaka was the most affected with an API reading of 153. The Department of Environment operates the Malaysian API Management System website, where the data is available.

According to the website, several other areas also recorded high API levels. Melaka city had an API reading of 146, Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan recorded 109, Batu Pahat had a reading of 134, and Tangkak in Johor had a reading of 116.

Additionally, 51 areas reported moderate API readings ranging from 51 to 100, while 12 areas had good API readings below 50. The API values indicate the air quality level, with zero to 50 indicating good air quality, 51 to 100 indicating moderate, 101 to 200 indicating unhealthy, 201 to 300 indicating very unhealthy, and above 300 indicating hazardous conditions. These values are provided by Bernama.
