During a police raid in Seksyen 20, Shah Alam, five individuals suspected of house break-ins, including a woman, attempted to avoid arrest by fleeing onto the roof of a flat. The group, consisting of four Malaysian men and a Thai woman, was eventually captured.
A video of the incident, which circulated widely on social media, depicts the suspects being apprehended by the police with the assistance of personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department.
Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim revealed that the raid took place at the suspects’ residence in the flat at approximately 12:03 am on Saturday (Nov 11).
“The suspects, aged between 24 and 37, tested positive for drugs and have prior records of drug-related offenses,” he stated on Sunday (Nov 12).
“They attempted to escape by climbing onto the flat’s roof, but we managed to detain them,” ACP Mohd Iqbal added.
Among the items seized from the group were stolen goods and tools commonly used in house break-ins. ACP Mohd Iqbal also disclosed that the group is believed to be responsible for at least three burglaries in Shah Alam.
According to ACP Mohd Iqbal, the suspects have been remanded until Wednesday (Nov 15). He called for individuals with information about the case to contact investigating officer Sjn AG. Kaszainizan at 013-978 0282.
