Five individuals were apprehended by law enforcement officials in Kluang for attempting to smuggle a total of 19,000 litres of diesel, valued at RM43,000, in Kampung Pisang, Machap.
The raid, conducted by the Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department (JKDNKA) at 10pm on March 18, resulted in the arrest of the suspects, whose ages range from 28 to 57 years old. They were unable to provide any documentation authorizing the possession, storage, or transportation of controlled goods without the necessary permit or license from the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KDPN).
Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh revealed that the case is being probed under Section 21 of the Supply Control Act 1961, which pertains to the illegal storage of diesel at an unlicensed location.
Aside from the arrests, authorities also seized a lorry, six IBC tanks, eight pumps, and a diesel fuel tanker, collectively valued at RM130,000. All confiscated items, including the diesel, have been handed over to KPDN officers for further investigation.

Following the completion of their statements, all five suspects were released on police bail, according to Johor’s Domestic Trade director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo. A single investigation paper has been initiated under Section 21 of the Supply Control Act 1961, with legal proceedings scheduled to commence shortly.
