MELAKA: A Nepali man accused of murder was apprehended on the North-South Expressway as he attempted to flee to Kuala Lumpur. The 20-year-old suspect was captured at the Pedas-Linggi Rest and Recreation Area on Wednesday night, according to Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit.

According to ACP Christopher, the manhunt was launched after the discovery of a 32-year-old Nepali man’s body at a worker’s hostel in Taman Merdeka Jaya. The victim was found dead at 6.42pm Wednesday, and police discovered a blunt object and telephone wire at the crime scene.

The suspect and the victim had both been working as restaurant staff, with the suspect arriving in the area three months prior. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect claimed the victim stole his money, leading to dissatisfaction and the alleged murder.
