In Limbang, 178 individuals from Kampung Baru, Medamit were forced to evacuate to a relief centre (PPS) on September 20 due to flooding caused by continuous rainfall over the past three days.
Lieutenant (PA) Mirwan Shah Masri, an officer from the Limbang District Civil Defence (APM), stated in a release today that Dewan Masyarakat Medamit was opened at 4.30pm yesterday to accommodate the flood victims.
These evacuees consist of 61 families according to Mirwan Shah Masri.
According to the iHydro website, the water level at the Ukong Station in Limbang reached 7.17m on Wednesday morning, surpassing the danger level of 6.50m. However, it is currently receding.
In the Miri Division, the water level at the Long Teru Station reached 7.48m, slightly above the warning level of 7m.
Bernama reported that three stations recorded alert levels: the Sungai Daussan Station in Mukah Division at 6.22m, the Sungai Salim Station in Sibu Division at 2.7m, and the Marudi Station in Miri Division at 2.86m.
