KOTA BHARU: According to the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID), four districts in Kelantan, namely Gua Musang, Pasir Puteh, Kuala Krai and Pasir Mas, are expected to experience flooding from Thursday (Jan 25) until Friday (Jan 26) due to continuous severe rain forecasted by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
The DID stated that low-lying areas within five kilometres around various locations in Pasir Puteh, Gua Musang, Kuala Krai and Pasir Mas are expected to be affected by the flooding. These include Kampung Bukit Awang, Kampung Gong Chokoh, Kampung Gong Sepulih, Kampung Gong Pasir, Kampung Kesedar Lebir, Felda Aring 5, Kampung Batu Papan 2, Kampung Paloh 3, Felda Chiku 3, Kampung Kuala Nal, Kampung Bedal, Kampung Aur Duri, Kampung Batu Lada, Kampung Manek Urai, Kampung Mesek, Kampung Temiang, Kampung Manjor, Kampung Budi, Kampung Pasir Jering, Kampung Kebun Pisang, Kampung Bujuk, Kampung Tok Uban, Kampung Chasi and Kampung Baru.
The warning was issued to advise residents, especially those in low-lying areas, to remain cautious and follow the instructions of the authorities or flood disaster management agencies. – Bernama
