The number of flood victims in Perak has increased slightly, reaching 329 people from 94 families as of 8am on Wednesday, November 1. This is in comparison to the previous count of 316 people from 90 families on the night of Tuesday, October 31.
According to a statement from the State Disaster Management Committee, all of the victims are currently being accommodated at three flood relief centres located in the districts of Kerian and Hilir Perak.
In Kerian, there are 90 individuals from 22 families seeking shelter at SK Changkat Lobak, and 56 individuals from 18 families seeking shelter at SK Alor Pongsu. As for the Hilir Perak district, 183 individuals from 84 families are being housed at Dewan Serbaguna Padang Tembak.
The Irrigation and Drainage Department has reported that the water level in Sungai Bidor, located in Changkat Jong, has decreased. However, it still remains at a dangerous level with a depth of 4.09m, compared to the normal level of 2m. This information was shared by Bernama.
