According to information from the Welfare Department Disaster Info portal, the number of flood victims seeking shelter in temporary relief centres in Selangor increased to 25 people from eight families by 9 pm on Tuesday. This was a notable rise from the 14 individuals belonging to five families reported in the morning.
All the individuals affected were relocated to the temporary relief centres at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah in Kuala Selangor, which was opened on Monday (Dec 18).
In contrast, the number of flood victims in Kelantan decreased to 3,240 people from 992 families as of 8 pm on Tuesday, compared to the 5,087 people belonging to 1,592 families earlier in the day. Specifically, all 10 temporary relief centres that were opened were in the Pasir Mas district.
These 10 temporary relief centres include SK Gual Tinggi, SK Gual To’Deh, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Gual Periok, SMK Baroh Pial, SK Kedai Tanjong, SK Gual Periok, Madrasah Tasek Bakong, Masjid Mukim Padang Licin, SK Sri Kiambang, and SMA (Agama) Pohon Buluh.
Meanwhile, in Perak, the total number of individuals seeking shelter at the temporary relief centres in Dewan Serbaguna Padang Tembak, Teluk Intan, slightly decreased to 64 people from 17 families as of 8 pm on Tuesday, compared to 65 victims from 18 families earlier in the morning.
