KLANG: A tragic incident occurred at a recycling centre in Klang, where a foreign worker lost his life after being crushed in a compactor.

According to Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, the assistant director (operations) of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, the distress call reporting the incident was received at approximately 1.51pm on Wednesday (Aug 23).

Upon receiving the call, six personnel and a fire engine from the Sungai Pinang Fire Station were immediately dispatched to the scene.

At the scene, it was discovered that a 19-year-old Bangladeshi man had been pulled into the machine while it was compacting material meant for recycling. Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar stated, “We managed to extract the body from the machine and subsequently handed it over to officials from the Ministry of Health for further necessary actions.”
