On Friday (Dec 23), in Genting Highlands, a foreign national was taken into custody on suspicion of being involved in the killing of a local man at a hotel. Bentong district police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar mentioned that the 45-year-old male suspect was apprehended near the hotel on the same day of the incident.

The victim’s body was transported to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan in Kuantan for a post-mortem, while preliminary inquiries revealed signs of a struggle on the victim’s body. “The 51-year-old victim was a businessman and had 23 past criminal records, including drugs. The results of the autopsy are expected to be obtained later this afternoon,” he said on Saturday (Dec 23).

Zaiham stated that the suspect has been remanded for seven days starting today for investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. – Bernama
