PETALING JAYA: The upcoming election in Semenyih will witness a direct competition between Hulu Langat Umno Wanita chief Wan Zulaika Anua and Selangor PAS information chief Nushi Mahfodz, according to Semenyih nomination centre returning officer Nor Azman Abd Rahim.
This will be Wan Zulaika’s debut campaign, while Nushi had previously contested as a candidate for the Sungai Ramal seat in 2018. During that campaign, Nushi secured 13,961 votes.
Prior to joining politics, Wan Zulaika had an extensive background in the banking industry, specifically in the cards department. She is also a mother of four and actively involved in various parental and educational organizations such as the Parents and Teachers Associations of Kajang High School, SMK Bandar Rinching, and SK Bandar Rinching. Furthermore, she previously held the position of secretary in both the Taman Pelangi Semenyih (TPS) Residents Association and TPS Phase 3 Rukun Tetangga.
