In Ipoh, a former cleaner has big plans after striking it rich as an overnight millionaire in the 96th Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) Premium Savings Certificate (SSP) special draw. Mohd Nazri Abd Wazir, 61, from Parit, was in disbelief when he received a call from BSN informing him of his RM1 million prize, as reported by Bernama.
Originally from a family of seven siblings, Mohd Nazri started saving with BSN back in 2003 for emergencies. He expressed his intentions to use the newfound wealth to go on umrah and haj with his 84-year-old mother, as well as cover his daily expenses. He made this known at a ceremony where he received a mock cheque, attended by Perak BSN director Mazlan Mat Jalil.
Reflecting on his luck, Mohd Nazri mentioned that he had only participated in the lucky draw on a whim, purchasing a certificate last year. He was drawn to saving with BSN SSP due to the attractive prizes and high dividends offered to depositors.
