Former Ipoh City Council mayor Datuk Zamri Man (pic) has died. Zamri, who was 56 years old, passed away at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital on Sunday, August 27. The news of his death was announced on the official Manjung Municipal Council Facebook page, as he was formerly its president. Zamri served as the mayor of Ipoh from 2015 to 2019. However, in April 2019, he was removed from his position for being absent without leave (AWOL). Reports indicate that Zamri, who was reportedly unwell, had not applied for sick leave and had been missing for several months. The Public Service Department stated that his tenure as mayor was cut short due to health concerns.
