Four children, one of which is a 10-month-old baby, have been abandoned at the Perak Tengah District Administrative Complex in Kampung Gajah, according to Perak Tengah OCPD Supt Hafezul Helmi Hamzah. The children were left at the complex at 10:50am on Thursday, November 23.

Supt Hafezul Helmi stated that they were informed of the incident by the Kampung Gajah Social Welfare officer at about 5:40pm. A security guard reported that an unknown woman left the four children in front of the guardhouse and then drove away. Three of the children are boys, aged 11, three, and 10 months, and the fourth is a six-year-old girl.

According to Supt Hafezul Helmi, the 11-year-old child informed authorities that they had been forced out of their grandmother’s house in Kampung Kuchai, Bota. The children were then taken to the administrative complex by an unknown woman and are now at a children’s shelter in Gopeng. The police are still attempting to locate the children’s parents or any next of kin. Anyone with information can contact investigating officer Insp Mohd Hanif Dzulkifli at 012-647 7452.
