BUTTERWORTH: Four individuals, including two women, have been remanded for six days until June 11 to assist in the investigation of an entrepreneur’s housebreaking case on April 25.
North Seberang Perai acting OCPD Supt Zulkeflee Sulaiman said all the suspects, aged between 20 and 27, were arrested on Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur between 9am and 10am on Thursday (June 6).
He said police also seized jewellery worth RM40,000 belonging to the entrepreneur.
“When they were arrested, we only managed to seize stolen jewellery worth RM40,000 which we believe was partly sold off by the suspect,” Sinar Harian quoted Supt Zulkeflee as saying on Thursday (June 6).
“However, investigation into the four suspects is still ongoing and they will be remanded for six days to assist in the investigation.
“To date, we are unable to establish the relationship of the four suspects, whether they are lovers or husband and wife.
Supt Zulkeflee did not rule out further arrests to help in the investigation of the case.
The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house breaking.
It was reported that the entrepreneur suffered losses of RM800,000 when her house in Kepala Batas was broken into last April.
This was revealed by Kleda Crepe owner Siti Nur Khalieda Yusra last Sunday (June 2) on several social media platforms, 40 days after the incident.
