In a five-day crackdown, a drug processing facility and three distribution syndicates were dismantled, with drugs worth nearly RM8 million seized. Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan revealed that a total of seven raids were conducted between July 17 and July 21, in collaboration with Bukit Aman and Subang Jaya Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (NCID) personnel. The raids took place in Seri Kembangan, Kota Damansara, Putra Heights, Jinjang, and Rawang, resulting in the arrest of 11 men and five women.
The seized drugs include 1.32kg of heroin, 26.77kg of heroin base, 37.57kg of methamphetamines, 109g of ganja, 42.86kg of erimin 5, 26.85kg of caffeine, and 42.28kg of ketamine. One of the suspects was found in possession of a revolver. Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that the crackdown has effectively disrupted four syndicates, one involved in drug processing and the other three engaged in drug distribution. It is believed that these syndicates have been operating since the beginning of the year, and the seized drugs have an estimated value of at least RM7.94 million.
Among the suspects, seven have prior records for theft and drug offenses. Additionally, urine tests conducted on the suspects revealed that two of them tested positive for ganja. The police also seized assets worth RM1.24 million, including jewelry and luxury vehicles such as two BMWs, a Toyota Alphard, and a Volkswagen. The investigation has revealed that the drugs were intended for local sale.
