In Kuala Lumpur, a tragic incident occurred when a four-year-old local boy fell from the 16th floor of Block B of the Sungai Buloh Hospital Integrated Quarters on Sunday, March 24.
Sungai Buloh District Police chief Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor stated that the police were alerted to the situation at 4.28pm, and upon reaching the scene, discovered the child had tragically passed away.
According to Mohd Hafiz, the preliminary investigation revealed that the victim’s parents, who are in their 30s, were asleep when the incident occurred.
“The mother of the victim woke up to find her youngest son on the edge of an open living room window, but unfortunately, she was unable to prevent him from falling,” he explained in a statement on Sunday.
Tragically, medical officers confirmed the boy’s passing at the scene, and the cause of death is currently being investigated.
“A sudden death report (SDR) investigation has been initiated in connection to the incident, and the parents of the victim will be questioned in the near future,” he added.
