PERBADANAN Putrajaya (PPj) is making preparations to ensure a smooth National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya on Aug 31. An estimated 100,000 people are expected to attend the event. In a statement released on Monday (Aug 28), PPj announced that there will be 50 free shuttle buses operating on the day, along two designated routes.
The buses on Zone A will pick up passengers from Terminal Putrajaya Sentral and drop them off at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in Precinct 3. On the other hand, Zone B buses will pick up passengers from the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) lobby in Precinct 5 and drop them off at Jalan Tun Hussein in Precinct 3. The shuttle buses will operate from 4am to 2pm.
During peak hours, which are from 4am to 8.30am, and 10.30am to 2pm, the buses will run at 10-minute intervals. During non-peak hours, the frequency will be reduced to 30 minutes. To ensure efficient bus services, the left-most lane along Lebuh Wawasan, Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, and Jalan Tun Hussein will be exclusively reserved for buses. Motorists are advised not to park their vehicles along these routes.
For the convenience of residents in the federal administrative capital, free Nadiputra bus services will be available between 6am and 2pm at 20-minute intervals. In addition, residents in Precinct 10, 11, 14, and 15 are encouraged to take P102 or P103 and then transit to P101 at the Kompleks E bus transit hub, to reach Precinct 3. Similarly, residents in Precinct 16, 17, and 18 are advised to take P106.
For those planning to drive, there are over 7,652 parking bays available near Terminal Putrajaya Sentral and PICC. Shuttle buses will be available to connect the last mile. Additionally, there are 27 car parks with about 4,000 bays located in Precinct 1, 2, 3, and 4, which are closer to Dataran Putrajaya. However, these roads leading to Dataran Putrajaya will be closed at 5am.
