French man rescued after eight-hour ordeal in Teluk Bahang

A man named Younes Oukali, 37, contacted the Fire and Rescue Department in Penang at 6.07pm on Monday to report that he was lost.

Following the call, a search and rescue operation was promptly initiated to locate the missing individual.

The department spokesperson mentioned that the victim was reachable on his mobile phone, which proved to be helpful in the search efforts.

At 1:22am on Tuesday, the victim was successfully rescued and subsequently transported to a hospital for further evaluation.

A total of seventeen firemen from the Balik Pulau Fire and Rescue Station participated in the search and rescue operation. – Bernama
