The complete report on the Batang Kali landslide incident is anticipated to be issued within the next three weeks.
Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stated that the Works Ministry has given approval for the release of the report.
“The state government is currently reviewing the legal aspects involved because the document is still under the Official Secrets Act 1972.
“The matter will be discussed at the upcoming state executive council meeting, which is expected to occur in the next two to three weeks,” he mentioned on Friday (Sept 22) in Selayang.
When asked if the report would disclose the cause of the landslide, Amirudin said he has not yet thoroughly reviewed it.
The incident occurred at a campsite on Dec 16 last year and involved 92 people, leading to the loss of more than 30 lives.
Amirudin spoke to the media after inaugurating the recently-completed upgrade of Jalan B23, Jalan Sungai Tua, and Persimpangan Kampung Bendahara in Selayang Baru.
The project, which cost RM25.5mil, included widening the roads to two lanes and conducting deepening works on the adjacent Sungai Kertas.
Also present at the event were Selayang Municipal Council chief Datuk Mohd Yazid Sairi and Gombak district officer Azlina Abd Aziz.
