The remains of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub were laid to rest at the Jalan Sulong Muslim cemetery at Kampung Serkat, Pontian. The burial took place at 12.05pm. Prior to the burial, a funeral prayer was held at Masjid Jamek Dato’ Haji Noh Gadot, which was attended by over a thousand people including family members, friends, political and government leaders, as well as the public.
Among the notable attendees at the cemetery were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli, Communication and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, and Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Senator Fuziah Salleh.
Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, 61, who served as the Parti Amanah Negara Deputy President, passed away at 9.23pm on Sunday, July 23, at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Setar. He is survived by his wife, Datin Seri Fatimah Taha, six children, and 11 grandchildren.
