KUALA LUMPUR: The police have arrested a suspect linked to the gang-rape of a 27-year-old woman in Wangsa Maju. The arrest took place at 11.30pm on Monday (Sept 5). The suspect is identified as the victim’s brother-in-law, and the authorities are currently searching for the remaining four suspects.
Asst Comm Siti Kamsiah Hassan, the assistant director of the Bukit Aman Sexual, Women, and Child Investigations Division (D11), confirmed the arrest.
Earlier, Supt Ashari Abu Samah, Wangsa Maju OCPD, stated that the victim, a local woman, had lodged a report on Aug 30, alleging that she had been sexually assaulted by five men at a residence in Wangsa Maju.
