PETALING JAYA: Business owners and households in the Klang Valley are making preparations for a scheduled water cut that will take place tomorrow. Measures being taken include cleaning water storage tanks and rescheduling medical appointments.
Restaurants owners are taking out their spare water tanks from storage in anticipation of the dry taps over the next few days. However, the operators do not expect the water cuts to affect their business, as most customers are expected to dine out instead of cooking at home, according to Y Two Restaurant owner Eric Ng from Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan. Patients who require dialysis treatment have been advised to reschedule their appointments.
Air Selangor has announced that a scheduled water cut will occur in parts of Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, and Hulu Langat. This is due to ongoing asset upgrading and maintenance works at the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant. The upgrading works will take place from 9am to 7pm tomorrow. Air Selangor has assured that the water supply will gradually resume, with full restoration expected by noon on Thursday.
The duration of the water cut and restoration will vary depending on the location of the consumer, water pressure, and distribution of the water system. To cater to the affected areas, Air Selangor will deploy water tankers, giving priority to critical facilities such as hospitals, dialysis centers, and funeral homes.
Commercial clients can purchase water for commercial use by contacting Air Selangor at any of its customer service centers. Additionally, they have the option to fetch water using their own tankers from two water filling stations in Sunway Batu Caves and Selayang Mutiara.
For further information, individuals can contact Air Selangor at 15300 or visit their social media pages.
