KUALA LUMPUR: The rehabilitation programme for Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) members will consist of four segments, says the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim).

Its director-general, Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee, said the segments or modules are “aqidah” (Islamic theology), skill training, patriotism and education with counselling.

“Each module will be monitored by caretakers from relevant agencies based on their expertise.

“A team consisting of Jakim personnel from the state and federal levels will evaluate the participants,” he told a press conference on Monday (Oct 14).

He said the acceptance of the participants could be evaluated within 90 days.

“However, each participant is different. We have a further process should they need more guidance,” he said.

Meanwhile, Children Development department director Dr Sopian Ibrahim said the children rescued in the operation on GISB, codenamed Ops Global, are being well cared for.

“They have been placed at protection homes based on current procedures and laws.

“Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri will brief parliament on the care of the rescued children tomorrow,” he said.
