KUALA LUMPUR: Six Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) members will be charged in Johor on Sunday (Oct 13) for a sexual offence and human trafficking.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said a worker at a GISB-owned resort in Kota Tinggi, Johor, would be charged for allegedly committing unnatural sex.

“The 20-year-old man will be charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offence Against Children Act 2017.

“The victim is a 16-year-old boy and the incidents were on June 1 and 3.

“The suspect is scheduled to be charged at the Kota Tinggi Magistrate’s Court at 8.30am tomorrow,” he said when contacted on Saturday (Oct 12).

Meanwhile, five other GISB members, including two who are still at large, are to be charged at the same court for human trafficking.

“Three suspects including a woman aged 27, 31 and 57, will be charged with two who are still at large, aged 60 and 36.

“One of them is a manager at a GISB-owned resort in Kota Tinggi.

“They will be charged under Section 12 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (Atipsom) Act 2007,” he said.

The IGP said four victims in the case were aged between 30 and 57.

“The three women and a man were victims of exploitation and forced labour.

“They were working at the resort,” he said.

It was reported that 625 people were rescued in an operation investigating GISB, codenamed Ops Global.

A total of 58 individuals, including GISB chief executive officer, have been held under the Security Offences (Special Measures) (Sosma) 2012.
