The Prime Minister announced that the government will address the needs of special needs students who have to travel to Penang for their SPM examination. Only one school in the country currently conducts this examination for special needs students, which shocked the Prime Minister. He made this statement in response to concerns raised by an individual regarding special needs students from Johor having to travel to Penang for their SPM examination. The Prime Minister made these remarks during his visit to Johor, where he engaged with students and educators from various schools and institutions at UTM.
During his visit, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of engaging with students and young people to gain a better understanding of the issues they face. He stated that as Prime Minister, he does not have all the answers and that engaging with the younger generation allows him to learn more about problems such as the needs of Form 6 and university students, challenges faced by disabled students, and poverty.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that addressing these issues will require time and careful consideration to avoid further increasing the country’s debt level, which currently stands at RM1.5 trillion. He expressed his reluctance to burden future generations by continuously borrowing billions to solve present problems.
