Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor stated that Sabah is committed to preserving the cultures and traditions of the state’s various races. He emphasized that the state government will continue to support and promote the development of all cultural activities to achieve this goal.

During the launch of the 2024 Chinese New Year Carnival at Lintasan Deasoka, Hajiji mentioned that the government aims to encourage each ethnic group in Sabah to safeguard their cultural heritage. He believes that doing so will foster racial and cultural tolerance.

State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew delivered the speech on behalf of the Chief Minister during the event.

Hajiji expressed his hope that those celebrating the Lunar New Year will embody the characteristics associated with the Chinese zodiac sign of the dragon, such as bravery, success, and prosperity.

Additionally, he urged the Chinese community to collaborate with the government in advancing the state’s development. He believes that their support will complement the government’s efforts to enhance the state’s economy.

Hajiji also praised the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FACS) and the Kota Kinabalu City Hall for their successful organization of the 2024 Chinese New Year Carnival.
