The Housing and Local Government Ministry’s goal is to construct a minimum of 50 public recreational parks across the country every year, with a budget of approximately RM500,000 allocated for each park. The aim is to increase the availability of recreational parks and create a more comfortable and safer green environment for people living in residential areas surrounding the parks.
Nga Kor Ming, the Minister, spoke after officiating the development of the living environment landscape at Woodlands Park, Bandar Baru Tambun, on Tuesday night, saying, “These public recreational areas are a form of therapy for residents who are currently facing various mental stress problems. When there are parks for them to rest and relax, then it will benefit them.”
The ministry has allocated RM10 million to construct 22 public recreational parks in Perak, with construction expected to be completed this year. Additionally, the ministry plans to involve the local community by encouraging them to contribute seeds for trees, which will then be named after their families. – Bernama
