It is expected that the meeting will take place next week, with the purpose of understanding the reasons behind the hijackings.
Fahmi stated to reporters after the 2023 National Anti-Scam Campaign closing ceremony that, “We will meet with Meta to delve into security aspects which can be exploited by cybercriminals.”

Fahmi also acknowledged receiving complaints about accounts being hijacked by unauthorized parties and advised users to be cautious of clicking on any suspicious links.
Further, Fahmi shared that his deputy, Teo Nie Ching, had met with Meta’s Facebook representatives to address scam cases on the social platform.
Earlier on Thursday, CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) had cautioned the public about scammers exploiting WhatsApp for impersonation purposes and deceiving victims into transferring money.
CSM warned that perpetrators would impersonate a user and share links to other potential victims in their contact list, resulting in the victims losing access to their WhatsApp account upon clicking on the shared link.
