Lee Kee Hiong, the three-term assemblyman for Kuala Kubu Baharu, expressed her gratitude to voters after successfully winning the state constituency in the Selangor election on August 12. Despite facing health challenges, Lee actively campaigned in the morning markets and commercial areas of Ulu Yam, Rasa, and Kuala Kubu Baru, engaging with traders and residents.
Representing the DAP party as part of the Pakatan Harapan coalition, Lee faced competition from candidates of other parties in the four-cornered fight for the Kuala Kubu Baharu seat.
With a majority of 4,119 votes, Lee emerged victorious by earning 14,862 votes, surpassing the other candidates. Henry Teoh of Perikatan Nasional secured 10,743 votes, while Dr Siva Prakash of Muda and Chng Boon Lai from Parti Rakyat Malaysia received 1,186 votes and 527 votes, respectively.
