Reports from Kajang reveal that police have broken up a ring that was involved in the sale of counterfeit medical leave certificates, leading to the arrest of six individuals in raids conducted in the Kajang and Bukit Jalil areas.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan released a statement on Wednesday (Dec 13) indicating that the raids had taken place on Dec 8 and 9. The result of the operations was the apprehension of four women and two men, aged between 26 and 51.
“All were remanded from Dec 9 to Dec 11 originally, and that has been extended to Dec 13,” he said.
The police discovered over 200 fake sick leave certificates, as well as 19 clinic receipts during the raids.
“Investigations indicated that the group was selling each certificate at a price ranging from RM30 to RM50. The suspects had been engaging in this illegal activity since last year and confined their operations to the Kajang area,” ACP Mohd Zaid added.
