Comedians from the group Senario are asking their fans to pray for the recovery of their colleague, Hamdan Ramli, who is currently hospitalized and sedated at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Bahru due to suspected kidney complications.
Azlee Jaafar shared that Hamdan, whose real name is Ahmad Hamdan Mohamed Ramli, 54, had not informed him or any other members about his illness.
During a charity event in Johor Bahru, Hamdan seemed healthy and cheerful upon arrival, but his family informed the group members the next day that he was unwell. They advised him to rest, but later found out that he had been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.”We advised him to skip the rehearsal and rest. At 5pm, his wife told us that he was admitted to the hospital and in critical condition,” Azlee told reporters at HSA.
Additionally, other group members, including Wahid, Saiful Apek, Yassin, and Ilya Buang, were also present to visit Hamdan.
Azlee, 54, expressed that the group had to continue with the showcase titled ‘Wonderful Tonight with Senariounion’ on the New Year’s Eve without Hamdan.”This is a test, and all we can do is pray and hope that Malaysians, especially the fans, will pray for a miracle and that he will recover,” he said, adding that Sunday marked Senario’s 27th anniversary.
Hamdan’s wife, Norhamalini Ahmed, 53, mentioned that he was enthusiastic about performing at the showcase despite feeling unwell. She also requested fans to pray for his recovery.
According to their youngest daughter, Nur Natasya Umairah, 21, Hamdan complained of feeling feverish and had diarrhea while traveling from Ipoh, Perak to Johor. Despite initially stable blood pressure, further examinations revealed his critical condition, leading to the decision to sedate him.
