PETALING JAYA: Hannah Yeoh has expressed her condolences for the late Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, describing him as a great leader who worked tirelessly until his final moments. The Youth and Sports Minister reflected on their early encounters and the strong bond they developed over the years.
Yeoh praised Salahuddin’s Rahmah programme, which aimed to tackle hunger, describing it as a resounding success that became a crucial part of their shared values. She remembered Salahuddin as a dedicated individual who took immense pride in his Rahmah initiatives.
Yeoh first met Salahuddin when he was a member of PAS, which was then part of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition. She stated that their relationship grew closer after the Pakatan Harapan coalition came to power in 2018, and she held a special place for Salahuddin in her heart due to his wisdom.
Meanwhile, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, the former youth and sports minister and president of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda), expressed his gratitude towards Salahuddin for always being supportive. Saddiq lamented Salahuddin’s untimely departure, stating that his contributions would be forever remembered. Saddiq highlighted Salahuddin’s admirable nature, noting that the late leader would often offer help even before being asked.
