Flash floods occurred in Sepang after heavy rain on Wednesday afternoon, causing traffic congestion in several areas. Sepang police chief ACP Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof stated that reports were received about major traffic jams in three locations: the Kota Warisan-Kuala Lumpur International Airport interchange, Jalan Jenderam-Salak Tinggi, and Jalan Sungai Merab-Bangi. A surveillance conducted by the district police headquarters’ investigation department and the Traffic Enforcement Department revealed that the cause of the traffic congestion was the flash floods.
However, the floodwaters receded after the rain stopped, and normal traffic flow resumed. Nevertheless, due to the peak hours and heavy traffic from people heading home after office hours, the traffic continued to move slowly. To alleviate the situation, traffic personnel were stationed in these areas to direct the flow of vehicles.
