PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional has called on the Home Ministry to be transparent about the alleged Israeli agent apprehended in Kuala Lumpur. The party acknowledged the swift police action in apprehending the suspect but emphasized the importance of addressing all inquiries regarding the incident.
Perikatan national youth leader Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden took to Facebook to urge for a thorough investigation by the Home Ministry to understand the root cause of the issue and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
He also stressed the need for a strategic plan to enhance the capabilities of government agencies in warding off foreign threats that pose a risk to the country’s sovereignty and security.
“This is not the first time Malaysia has been targeted by foreign elements that jeopardize our sovereignty and security,” Afnan Taib remarked.
“According to the Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, the police suspect that the individual is linked to the Israeli secret service and may have established a network in the country.
In light of the recent developments, Afnan Taib posed two crucial questions that require answers from the Home Ministry.
He raised concerns over how the individual managed to enter Malaysia despite the ban on Israeli nationals and how he acquired firearms and ammunition so effortlessly within the country.
While acknowledging the dedication of the civil service in carrying out their duties with limited resources, Afnan Taib emphasized the need for the Home Ministry and other ministries to prioritize the nation’s sovereignty, security, and border control measures.
