In the Magistrate’s Court in Petaling Jaya, an assistant executive manager of a hotel pleaded not guilty on Tuesday (Oct 3) to a charge of outraging the modesty of his former female colleague, who used to be a newsreader for a private television station.
Mohd Faizal Hussain, aged 53, was accused of using criminal force against the 54-year-old woman with the intention of outraging her modesty. The incident allegedly took place at a hotel in Damansara, near Petaling Jaya, at 1pm on July 13 this year.
According to Section 354 of the Penal Code, if convicted, Hussain could face imprisonment for up to 10 years, a fine, whipping, or any combination of the punishments.
Represented by lawyer Nur Afiqah Mohd Ashriee, Mohd Faizal was granted bail in the amount of RM4,000 and ordered not to intimidate the victim or witnesses involved in the case by Magistrate Zhafran Rahim Hamzah.
The court scheduled a mention for November 20.
