A 35-year-old human resources manager from a private company in Johor Baru has been taken into custody by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly making false claims amounting to RM200,000.
The woman was arrested after providing a statement at the MACC’s Johor office on Wednesday at 10am and has since been released on MACC bail, according to sources.
She is under investigation for allegedly submitting false documents to the Social Security Organisation (Socso) by using Employee Verification Forms.
It is alleged that the suspect submitted the claims to obtain incentives under the Penjana to implement the Hiring Incentive Programme, which was no longer fully implemented.
Datuk Azmi Alis, the director of the Johor MACC, confirmed the arrest and mentioned that the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
