“I have not seen it,” said Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail in response to the alleged addendum order by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong granting house arrest to Datuk Seri Najib Razak in his royal pardon.
The Home Minister stated, “I have no knowledge on the additional document and I have not seen it,” during a press conference on April 4 when asked about claims made by Najib through an application for leave for judicial review.
Najib alleged that there was an addendum order by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in the royal pardon granted to him on Jan 29, where he was allowed to serve his prison sentence under house arrest.
Najib listed several respondents, including the Home Minister, in his application for judicial review filed through law firm Messrs Shafee & Co on April 1.
Saifuddin confirmed that Najib’s lawyers had sent him a letter regarding the application for judicial review.
“Yes I received a letter from his lawyer Shafee and I will respond accordingly with regard to whatever is within our knowledge,” the Home Minister said.
In addition to the letter from Shafee, Saifuddin mentioned that he became aware of the issue through media reports, emphasizing that he does not sit on the Pardons Board.
