MELAKA: Melaka police have now identified the two corpses found wrapped in canvas and left to decompose by the roadside in a secondary jungle. The identities of the deceased will only be revealed once the police have gathered more leads in their investigation, according to Melaka Tengah Asst Comm OCPD Christopher Patit. A post-mortem examination indicated that there were no visible injuries on the bodies, and the police are now awaiting chemistry reports to determine the cause of death. ACP Christopher Patit also stated that there were no tattoo markings on the bodies that would suggest they belonged to triad gang members.
On July 10, a lorry driver, aged 35, made a horrifying discovery of the two bodies wrapped in canvas sheets at Kampung Ujong Padang in Cheng, Melaka. It is believed that the bodies had been dumped at the scene two to three days earlier. One of the bodies was found with hands and legs tied with cable and rope. While one of the deceased was dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, the other was only wearing denim shorts. Both bodies were concealed under piles of rubbish. The case is currently being investigated as a murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
