PETALING JAYA: Former transport minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong expresses his willingness to cooperate with the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in their investigation into the management of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The PAC announced that they will be summoning Ayer Hitam MP, Dr Wee, for the fourth session of proceedings next week due to his involvement mentioned in previous sessions.
“No problem, PAC! I will definitely be present on September 21. Feel free to ask me any questions, and I will assist with any inquiries,” Dr Wee stated on his Facebook page on Thursday (Sept 14).
Former health ministry secretary-general, Datuk Seri Dr Chen Chaw Min, will also be summoned for the proceedings scheduled for next Thursday (Sept 21), according to PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.
“PAC will summon Dr Wee since his name was mentioned in previous proceedings. To ensure fairness, the PAC intends to give him an opportunity to present his side,” she revealed during a press conference at Parliament on Thursday (Sept 14).
The third session of PAC proceedings on the Covid-19 pandemic management took place earlier in the day, where testimonies were given by Health deputy secretary-general (finance) Datuk Seri Norazman Ayob, Boustead Plantations Bhd non-independent, non-executive director Izaddeen Daud, and Pharmaniaga Bhd executive committee chairman Ahmad Shahredzuan Mohd Shariff.
The first PAC proceeding on the management of the Covid-19 pandemic was conducted on June 15, with the second session held on August 22.
