A crackdown at the Selayang market resulted in the apprehension of more than 100 illegal immigrants, as reported by Kuala Lumpur city police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid on Saturday (Jan 27).
The operation, carried out in conjunction with the Immigration Department and other agencies, aimed to address criminal activities in the Selayang market area, particularly those involving illegal immigrants.
A total of 108 illegal immigrants were detained for lacking valid travel documents and overstaying in the country.
Data revealed that among the 108 arrested individuals, four were women, with the majority (52) being Indonesians.
“The police, along with other departments and agencies, will continue to conduct similar special operations in the future,” Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said.
