The Johor Immigration Department conducted an operation in the city centre and arrested nine Vietnamese women at two different massage centres. Baharuddin Tahir, the director of Johor Immigration, reported that the operation was in response to public reports about immoral activities at the premises. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the women had violated their social visit pass (PLS) and temporary visit pass (PLKS) and had overstayed in the country.

Additionally, the department arrested a man believed to be the owner of the premises. The women, aged between 22 and 38, were found in possession of six Vietnamese passports, three massaging items, and a log book for visitors.

Baharuddin stated that the case is being investigated under Section 6(1) and Section 15(1) of the Immigration Act 1959/1963, as well as Rule 11(7)(a) and Rule 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963. He added that the premise owner is also being investigated under Section 56(1)(d) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for harbouring illegal immigrants.
